Role: Finance Assistant

Location: Bradford, BD7

Salary: £22,000 - £27,000 pa + annual bonus

Hours:  Monday-Thursday 8.30am-5.00pm, Friday 8.30am-4.00pm

 Our client is looking for a methodical and motivated Finance Assistant to join their  team.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant:

  • Support the preparation for the annual audit and assist with payroll documentation.
  • Post and reconcile daily bank transactions.
  • Verify, code, and post supplier invoices.
  • Reconcile supplier statements.
  • Manage the sales ledger, ensuring customers adhere to payment terms.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies swiftly to prevent payment delays, collaborating with customers and internal teams to address any issues.
  • Regularly review aged creditor reports and proactively resolve any outstanding queries.
  • Assist with general administrative tasks, including filing, handling mail, and addressing routine inquiries.
  • Maintain professional relationships with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
  • Work closely with the Sales and Customer Service teams to resolve queries and issues.
  • Provide coverage during holidays and absences, along with handling ad-hoc duties as required.

 

Experience and Skills Required:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 1 year of experience in an Accounts Department is preferred, although individuals eager to begin their career in this field will also be considered.
  • Strong organisational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage a varied workload.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient arithmetic abilities.
  • Competence in using computer software, with advanced skills in Excel and Outlook.
