Impression Recruitment are delighted to be assisting an extremely highly regarded business who are committed to keeping the community at the heart of everything they do. They are searching for someone to take control of the general day to day upkeep and smooth running of the workplace, with a positive, hands-on approach to any task that needs dealing with. You will have experience in a general maintenance / caretaker position in a school / site or similar, and you’ll ideally work 20 hours spread across the week, with flexible start and finish times.
Your duties as General Maintenance Operative:
- Provide day-to-day maintenance, ensuring facilities are in good working order.
- Complete maintenance and repair work as required to a high standard, together with any preventative measures.
- Collect spare parts and make trips for local deliveries when needed.
- Take ownership of areas such including scrap and waste hold
- Adhere to the agreed standard operating procedures (SOPs) when ensuring all site bunds are clean and empty.
- Carry out small projects when necessary alongside other teams.
- Complete fire alarm testing, compliance procedures and company vehicle upkeep, ensuring corrective action where appropriate.
- Ensure all aspects of the workplace are kept clean and tidy.
Skills required:
- Ability to perform general DIY and hands-on tasks.
- A safety-first approach at all times.
- Ability to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion.
- Ability to prioritise workload and self-manage.
- Full clean driving license.
- Positive, can-do attitude with a proactive approach to getting things done.
- Methodical and organised approach.
